About Us
Through annual fundraising initiatives, community events, and the generous support of the community, Milton District Hospital Foundation strives to improve the quality of healthcare services at Milton District Hospital.
Dollars raised by Milton District Hospital Foundation stay in Milton. Funds are granted annually to the hospital for capital equipment and are in no way directed to Hospital operational costs. Through annual fundraising initiatives, community events, and the generous support of our patients and the community, Milton District Hospital Foundation supports a list of hospital equipment that is identified annually, by staff and physicians, as essential to help keep pace with growth.
Built almost 50 years ago, Milton District Hospital underwent its last significant expansion in 1987 - to meet the needs of a population of 32,000 residents. Milton is no longer the small town it once was, and with a population approaching 100,000 it was with great relief that on August 25, 2011, Milton District Hospital was given the green light for a massive expansion. The project will include 320,000 sq.ft. of new construction and 3,700 sq.ft. of renovations which will affect all Clinical and Support departments.
We know that the community is solidly committed to this expansion plan. This will be the most exciting and significant capital project in Milton since the Hospital was built and will make a real difference in the health and lives of everyone in the community.
We look forward to sharing more news over the next few years as we work together to grow our Hospital.
